Mr. Steven Lee the recipient of the prestigious British Chef is the year award who was born and brought up in Kolkata and went to the United Kingdom 17 years back and started the concept of Indo-Chinese cuisine in the UK. Hailing from Tangra, he is a pioneer in popularizing the unique taste and flavours of this special cuisine which was previously unknown in London. About a year back, he started his own venture, Hakkaland, which specializes in 'Kolkata Chinese'.
Birgit Holm is the General Manager for Hyatt Regency Kolkata. A graduate of the Copenhagen Hotel and Restaurant School, she started her hospitality career in 1988 as front desk manager at Hotel Kong Fredrik Copenhagen and later got a certificate at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. After gaining work experience in the culinary field in renowned New York restaurants, she moved to the St. Regis New York as a manager of food & beverage in 2002. As a General Manager, Birgit Holm will oversee the strategic and financial performance of Hyatt Regency Kolkata .She will ensure that the basic principles of Hyatt Regency brand are imbibed at every level.
Suman Chakraborty is a teacher and entrepreneur. He is the Founder and Executive Editor of ROMAN Books, an award-winning publishing house; and the Business Development Advisor of Roman Printers Pvt. Ltd., one of Kolkata’s oldest printing houses. He was a select invitee to the Prime Minister’s Start-Up India launch. Suman studied modern literature at the University of Glasgow and taught at various institutes in the UK and in India. He is currently the Director of Centre for English Studies, Kolkata and a visiting lecturer at Sister Nivedita University. A foody, a lover of food videos, food photography and new recipes, Suman loves to dine at new specialty restaurants to explore new items on menu. He is interested to explore the possibilities of how digital food blogging can be converted into a physically published book.
